Alternative treatment and therapies

This type of exclusion is common among International Private Medical Insurance policies and it applies to alternative treatments and therapies. These types of treatments are not considered to be medically necessary and are therefore not covered by the policy. Some examples of treatments and therapies that are typically excluded include aqua physiotherapy, bone-setting, colonic irrigation, hydrotherapy, Intervertebral Differential Dynamics (IDD), kinesiology, naturotherapy, Ayurveda and massage therapy. These treatments are often used as complementary or alternative methods to traditional Western medicine and may be used to treat a wide range of conditions. However, they are not considered to be a substitute for medical treatment and are not covered under the policy.
