Treatment in the USA

When it comes to medical insurance policies, treatment in the United States is generally excluded unless your coverage area specifically includes the US or if you are only traveling to the US for a short trip. Some policies may provide coverage for accidents and emergencies only during such trips. However, for planned treatments or pre-existing conditions, coverage is generally not provided unless you have a worldwide coverage policy. It is important to note that if an insurance provider believes that coverage was taken out with the purpose of traveling to the USA specifically for treatment for a condition or symptoms that were already known before the insurance was obtained or before the USA was included in the coverage area, the claim will likely be excluded. In such cases, the insurance provider may also reserve the right to seek reimbursement from the policy holder for any claims that were paid.
